Crawler Club!!!

Well I think there are enough r/c crawlers in the greater Redding area to start a club. Redding R/C Crawlers I guess is a fitting name. Please suggest others if you have them. The purpose of the club will be to organize groups of crawlers to go out and crawl for fun and to use club dues etc. to put on and buy supplies for crawling competitions in our area. We plan to have a monthly meeting, most likely somewhere at a bar/restaurant here in Redding. Dues will be around 40.00 per year which will include a membership card good for a discount at a local hobby shop (if the owner agrees :-) We will also raise funds selling merchandise such as t-shirts, stickers etc etc. Check this blog for more information which will be coming very soon.

Sulfer Creek Crawling

Here are a few shots of crawling at the Sulfer Creek watershed. The water is just low enough you can cross it in several places......if you are VERY careful :-)

Crawling at Oasis rd

These are a few pics from the rock off of Oasis rd. Very fun rock and close and easy to get to. This may be where we wnd up doing the crawler competition.

crawling at Dry Creek rd

Found some great crawling out on Dry Creek rd. There is tons of rock along the creek for a few miles. I parked directly across from Squaw Grass trail and found TONS of rock. You could spend all day and not touch the same rock twice :-) and yes I did manage to crawl onto that big boulder. I have not made it back off without rolling......yet :-)

REDDING R/C CRAWLERS

Welcome!!

This blog was created to provide an online meeting place for Redding area r/c crawlers. Share locations in the Redding area, post pictures and comments, crawler and accessory reviews etc. etc. etc. Keep checking the blog for info on an upcoming crawler competition in Redding sponsored by All Around R/C and Hobby (1620 E Cypress Ave # 2 Redding, CA 96002 (530) 222-5679) visit them for all your r/c crawler and hobby needs.

Crawling locations near or in Redding.

1. Oasis road: Take the oasis rd exit off of I-5 and head east. Cross over creek and pull in imediately to the left and park on the old road near the bridge. You will see some of the rock from there. Continue walking to the North and you will see many more crawling opportunities. (pictures coming soon)

2. Sulfer Creek Watershed (photo above 2nd from top): I found this spot while poking around town looking for somewhere close to get a quick crawler fix :-) turn into the access road right at the bottom of Miracle Mile. Continue through the gate and park to the left near the large log placed there to keep vehicles from going any further. Walk towards the creek and you will see the rock crossing the creek to your right. Try to make it across with no repositioning or getting wet! It can be done. :-)

3. Keswick area(photo above top): Head towards the Keswick lake boat ramp. Look to your left before the ramp access road and you will see a turn out. A large steep dry creek bed awaits you. Crawl away!

There are many areas I'm not yet aware of so feel free to post new locations via the comments option and I will add them as I get them. I will also add more as I discover them :-)
